Township attorney James Fink told trustees the fireworks amendment would bring Pittsfield into compliance with new statewide firework regulations. The new fireworks amendment, which received unanimous approval during Wednesday’s board of trustees meeting, will limit the number of holidays and hours fireworks are permitted to be discharged, as well as an increase in penalty fees for violations. The Pittsfield Township board clamped down on late-night fireworks.
